Vauxhall Aberdeen Take The Cake For The Archie Foundation

Vauxhall Aberdeen continue the groups tradition of philanthropic work this Summer by raising over £200 for children’s charity, The Archie Foundation, by taking part in their 'Big Cake Day'.

On Friday June 10th at our Vauxhall Aberdeen showroom, guests and staff took part in 'Archie's Big Cake Day' where guests and staff enjoyed tasty home baked treats to help raise money for The Archie Foundation to provide family centre parent rooms for the parents of sick children.

The Archie Foundation improves the healthcare of 175,000 sick children all across the north of Scotland and is devoted to improving the lives of children with long term health issues by creating amazing hospital environments, toys, funding, specialist staff and research. For one day a year, they help further afield, by giving generously to a life-saving surgical unit in Uganda.

Jessica James, who is the Charity Champion for Vauxhall Aberdeen, organised this contribution day and also guides fundraising for the dealerships chosen charity partner for 2016 - local charity, HomeStart.

Jessica talked staff throughout the dealership into showing off their baking skills and the table was soon overflowing with cakes and more. Staff and guests were buying and donating all day, and with a healthy £200 given to the Foundation, this definitely won’t be the last Archie’s Big Cake Day.

Jessica said: ''It’s a fantastic feeling to give something back, especially for sick kids and when there are cakes involved too, that’s just a bonus. I’m hoping to make Archie’s Big Cake Day a regular tradition.''
